Manuka Lip Balm

Manuka Lip Balm

It is an unfortunate fact that people are prone to dry lips. This leads to a constant burning sensation and irritated lips that nobody wants to experience. Add on a dry environment and some direct sunlight and you're in for a really bad time. Luckily, we got your back with this all natural and powerfully moisturizing lip balm you can make at home! We even added some natural sun protecting ingredients to help reduce sunburns :)

Ingredients:

1. Beeswax 1 tsp (~2.3g) Firmness, barrier protection

2. Cocoa butter 1 tsp (~2g) Nourishing, UV resilience

3. Red raspberry seed oil 1 tsp (~1.5g) Main SPF source (estimated SPF 10–25)

4. Wheatgerm oil ½ tsp (~1g) Vitamin E source, antioxidant

5. Coconut oil 1 tsp (~2g) Moisture + mild SPF (~SPF 4–6)

6. Manuka honey ½ tsp (~3g) Healing, humectant

7. Vitamin E oil 1 capsule (~0.4g) Preservative + healing

8. Optional essential oil 1–2 drops (e.g., peppermint, sweet orange, or vanilla)

Instructions:

Melt: In a double boiler or heat-safe bowl, melt the beeswax, cocoa butter, coconut oil, and wheatgerm oil over low heat.

Remove from heat and cool for ~30 seconds.

Stir in red raspberry seed oil, vitamin E, and Manuka honey. (It is ideal to add Manuka when the blend is still liquid but has cooled off a bit)

Mix thoroughly and stir while cooling to help suspend the honey evenly.

Pour into clean tins or lip balm tubes.

Let cool fully before capping.

This recipe makes a small personal use amount but can easily be scaled up to make more. This makes for a wonderful gift to yourself and your loved ones!
